A bold, full-bodied red, revealing ripe, lush flavors of baked and dried boysenberry and black raspberry fruit, with mocha, dried mint and a rich streak of minerally iron and loamy earth. Harmonious and well-knit, silky on the palate, with dense tannins emerging only to firm the finish.
A love for the land and a winemaker's curiosity led François Lurton with his brother Jacques and Michel Rolland to discover unique native varieties and terroirs. Their adventurous spirit brought them to Toro and Rueda over 30 years ago and, since then, the combination of French and Castilian winemaking traditions has led them to become one of the leading names in great Spanish wines. With François Lurton at the helm, Campo Elíseo is the story of an oenologist passionate about unique, authentic grape varieties and soils, grown under extreme climate conditions. A love for the land and a winemaker’s curiosity led them to discover unique native varieties such as Verdejo and Tinta de Toro.
